2016 All-Star Break
Well there it is, standings don't lie…once again we are close as fuck. McNally lead for most of the first half, now Jeff takes over at the break. Hmm a soon to be married and a recently engaged participant? What does that mean?!?!? Well, that Moon will probably win.
Like past years I will pick a player who best represents your team. Let's get after it…In draft order:
The Thickening - 4th Place Chris Sale
Chris Sale is one of the best pitchers in the league this year but is not getting the credit he deserves. I feel like that is Bull's team, in the mix and can easily win it, but hasn't been on top, or trended on twitter or any stupid thing like that.
C-Town Highsparrows - 7th Place Chris Archer
Looking Younger then he is…then getting old apparently quickly (or just injured) BK and Archer are looking a lot alike. Sure 7th place isn't horrible, but by BK standings? This is tragic…just like Archer's season has been.
Dogzilla - 8th Place Adam Wainwright
Don's season has been up and down all over and recently has looked to get back on track. Almost exactly like Wainwrights. The Card's have always been in the money and actually so has Don recently, so watch out the second half.
Tangled Upton Blue - 3rd Place Wil Myers
I initially thought about Clayton Kershaw here…but that's not right, even though his injury has knocked him out of the top spot. The truth is Don's team came out of nowhere, just like Myers. Jay Bruce could be here as well, but Myers seems more special this year and is actually rated even higher. All involved have been amazing this year. I also have zero faith in any.
Bone Droppers - 12th Place Matt Harvey
Oh…so…disappointing.
As… Prince Fielder - 11th Place Sonny Gray
…and continuing that disappointment train. How the mighty have fallen..quickly…both Gray and Mike.
Honey Nut Ichiro - 5th Place Joey Votto
The injuries to Grienke and King Felix have kept Birdie from making a move to the top, but it has been the early season disappointment of Votto that symbolizes his team. The crafty Canuck has been hot lately though so perhaps Birdie can live up to my preseason prediction.
ephederaheartstoppers - 2nd Place Adrian Gonzalez
Consistently great, both Moon and Gonzalez. Plus I am pretty sure Moon has sworn off everything that is Mexican except tacos.
The Spearmint Rhinos - 9th Place Brian McCann
Goofy white guys who under-perform? Wilson and McCann, there you go.
When Stubbs Cry - 6th place Didi Gregorius
Up and down all year, but Tom has lately moved up like a rocket. Check this out, over the last 30 days where does Didi rank? 8th overall. Amazing. Tom's got a shot, hell, we all do plus equating Tom to a Yankee is always fun on my end.
MotteKetelBlackmon - 1st Place Noah Syndergaard
Syndergaard is living up to his potential dominating, even with some nagging injuries. Jeff is doing the exact same. Let's see how this plays out.
ASongOfPrice&Fiers - 10th Place Yasiel Puig
Started out like he was back in his championship contending form. Injuries, unexpected setbacks, now flat out sucking and possibly getting traded/switching careers. Talking about Puig or myself? Doesn't matter. Bring on the second half!
